Bereavement Support Groups

Participation in a support group has been shown to be one of the best ways to help those who are grieving the death of a loved one. People who have experienced similar losses are brought together in an environment of safety, care, and compassion. Mutual learning can take place regarding how to manage the grief process in a healthy way. Participants are given the permission to grieve that may not otherwise be available to them. Grieving is respected as part of a normal and natural response to the death of a loved one.

What past participants have said about our groups:

“Met a nice group of people who had gone through the same thing as I. That was very comforting – I got renewed strength from knowing I was not the only one to have these feelings and experiences.”

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have shared the worst thing in my life with people who care.”

“I don’t feel so alone and now I have a support system that I wasn’t getting from friends and family.”

“Comforting to know my feelings were normal.”
