If you would like to apply to become a volunteer for Hospice & Palliative Care Of Westchester, please Click Here TRAININGHospice & Palliative Care of Westchester knows that each family is unique and services vary according to the individual. To prepare Volunteers to be a patient visitor, a 20+ hour specialized training program is provided. When the training is completed, a volunteer is assigned to a patient and works directly with the clinical-care team under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator. This specific training is not required for volunteers who do not have a patient contact. And in-depth orientation of hospice is provided to volunteer who wish to work in other areas. Volunteers play a vital role with Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester. They can assist with administrative support in the office, with community education, assist at fund-raising events or help to recruit other volunteers. SERVICES PROVIDED by VOLUNTEERSRespite Visit with a patient in order that the caregiver can do other things or rest. Errands Pick up prescriptions or go grocery shopping for the family Listening
